What is miswak?
Miswak is a natural chewing stick cut from the Salvadora persica tree, also known as the Arak tree. It has been used for centuries across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia as a traditional, plant-based way to freshen up and care for your mouth.
Miswak is a traditional product and isn't a substitute for brushing, flossing or professional dental care.
How to use it
- Trim about 1 cm of bark from one end of the stick.
- Chew the tip gently until the fibres soften into bristles.
- Brush across your teeth and gums, then rinse the stick.
- Trim a fresh bit off the tip once the bristles wear down.
